“Gaiwan”literally means“covered or lidded bowl”in Chinese. It is perhaps the most versatile of all tea brewing tools. We have two formulations to bring out the best of different types of teas. Our earthenware pottery gaiwan brews heavily oxidized and fired teas exceptionally well (ex. Pu-erh, Tiequanyin, and charcoal fired oolongs). The result is a rich and mellow taste.Our gaiwan can best bring out a tea’s fragrance (best for light oolongs, green teas).
